  1. A new stove
  2. We need to replace the stove in J.B.'s kitchen - it's an apartment size (20") , gas stove. The stove is a necessity for the Residency as the artists are expected to prepare all of their own meals. Average price is from $400 - $700 dollars.

  3. A new vacuum cleaner
  4. We need a new vacuum cleaner for the Residency house. The Eureka 6833B vacuum cleaner is perfect for the job. It's $140.

  5. Three new windows
  6. We want to replace three of the original windows that J.B. installed in 1959.

    • 'Door-Window'
    • The first window is a door. When building the house, J.B. used salvaged materials. The door was purchased at a salvage yard in Petaluma and was used instead of a traditional piece of glass. Located in the bathroom this 'door-window' is adjacent to the bathtub and can be opened while in the tub. It is installed on its side. The original 'door-window' has been sealed due to weathering and the wood has warped. To replace the 'door-window' would cost $400.

    • Couch Window
    • The second window is a sliding window located alongside the couch in the living room. It has been sealed because the original wood warped. We would like to re-build the window frame and add a screen so that the window can remain open during the summer months without letting in flies and moths. It would cost $200 to replace the couch window.

    • Loft Window
    • The third window is located in the loft. The window frame has also warped over time and no longer opens properly. It is the only window in the loft that opens and it is essential for properly ventilating the house in the warm months. To replace the loft window would cost $300.

  7. A new back door
  8. The back door needs to be replaced. The current door has warped and split and no longer locks properly. It would cost $300 to replace the back door.

  9. A new roof for the house
  10. The house needs a new shingled roof. The roof covers the bedroom, a room which was added onto the main house in 1985 and has not been replaced or fixed since it was first constructed. Estimated cost is $9,000.

  11. A new roof for the studio
  12. The studio roof is in desperate need of repair. The roof has not been repaired since 1980. It requires a new support beam, new framing and shingles. Estimated cost is $11,000.
