The Residency hosted an open studio with Jay Nelson and Rachel Kaye Saturday, June 26th. Jay and Rachel displayed and discussed the work they have made over the past two months.

Inspired by patterns found in nature, surreal luxury and Inverness lizards, Jay and Rachel have been painting, drawing, cooking and building a boat.

The Residency is resting for the winter. Jay Nelson and Rachel Kaye will arrive in May, 2010. Until then we are working on the property and enjoying the holidays.

Alicia is continuing to experiment with new mediums (photography and film) and is focusing on a large-scale piece on plastic which relates to the architecture of the Residency and inspires notions of impermanence.

The special edition Artists Wanted t-shirts #24 in 'muddy waters' and 'lots of legs green' are now being sold at the FREECITY supershop in Malibu and at Reform Gallery.

The #24 t-shirt was made special for the J.B. Blunk Residency donation.
